    • 1/4 in 14kt and 18kt gold, around 750 pieces.
      • there was around 300 pieces in 18kt and around 400 in 14kt gold.
    • The remaining 3/4 were made in steel.
  • The reference 6241 was bearing an OYSTER case.
  • Pump push-down buttons in chromed metal, model 24-P3.
  • OYSTER TWINLOCK 600 series winding crown in ridged metal with raised underlined Rolex logo.
  • Domed plexiglas first series crystal, model TROPIC 21.
  • Unspecified waterproof depth, that is the reason why the OYSTER signature is not present on the dial.
  • Hour and minute hands in laminated metal with Tritium. Chronographic seconds hand in burnished metal or polished on black dial.
  • Has a metal, polished case back. Starting from 1966 for ref. 6241 Rolex uses an oval shaped case (also introduced for ref. 6239 in the same time period). The early productions have a round case just like for references 6238 and 6239 but from approximately 1966 on, the design is modified by accentuating the convex of the curve in correspondence to the winding crown, making it oval shaped. The modification was also applied to reference 6239.
  • Satin finish inside the case back with the Rolex name stamp, the Rolex patent, the material of construction and reference number. In this model it is also present the signature C.R.S. representing the initials of the manufacturer Charles Reneè Spielman. Occasionally the reference number stamp may vary from the actual reference model engraved between the upper lugs of the case.

  • Upper lug (12 o'clock) ---> REGISTERED DESIGN

                                                                   6241

  • Lower lug (6 o'clock)--->  STAINLESS STEEL (when the case is in steel)

                                                      Serial number

Irregularities in the engraving (like the one above) can be attributed to the limits of a manual pantograph.
